4 Super Important Things to Consider When Starting a Business That No One Likes Talking About

21Recently I embarked on full-time entrepreneurship and the road is harder than I expected but way more fulfilling than I ever could have imagined. Since I started this full-time journey I often get questions about how I started FNPhenomenal. Therefore, I decided to compile the 4 things that really helped me at the beginning of the journey.

  1. Find what keeps you going. Passion will sustain you during the tough times and when you don’t feel like working. Ask yourself, “What would you do if you had to do it for free?”  The answer to that is probably something that you are passionate about. For me, I love empowering women and teaching them about how to live their purpose and improve their lives and finances. I would do that all day. I needed that passion, because it was a while before I started to generate income working in my passion.
  1.  Trust your vision. It’s totally ok to get feedback and advice from others especially people who are your ideal clients. However, if you keep asking for feedback then you will never get anything done.  Indecision is just a form of procrastination. Sometimes you just need to make a decision, take the feedback that you want to implement, discard the rest, implement, and course-correct as needed. Implementation is the only way that you can move your vision from an idea to a tangible product or service. If you continue to brainstorm then your vision will remain an idea and the world will pass you by.
  1.  Just start. There will never be a perfect time or a perfect idea. Once you start you begin to gain momentum and then you can learn what works and what doesn’t. Don’t be afraid to tweak along the way based on the reception that you receive from potential customers. A business is always evolving to new marketplace dynamics so it’s ok to change course and it’s ok if this “finished product” is different than the initial one.
  1.  Don’t quit your job too soon. When I first started building FNPhenomenal I wanted to spend all day every day working on my dream. I looked at my job as an interference. However, if I quit my job over two years ago it would have been too soon. I needed the income from my job to pay for the conferences that I attended and the investments that I needed to make in me and in my business. If I quit my job I wouldn’t have been able to make those investments. Remember that ideas take time to build and your job is funding your passion. Think of your job is an initial investor. Once you start to build that momentum, then you can explore leaving the job. However, there is no perfect time. Only you know when it’s time.

Hopefully these tips will help you to start that passion-based business and start improving the lives of people around you. What are you going to do next? Be sure to leave a comment to let me know!
