Today’s Lifework: Today, you are going to create an office. Even if it’s a corner in your bedroom or on the floor. This will be your sacred money spot for you to routinely handle your finances. If you have a desk and a laptop, make sure you respect it as your money space.
In particular, for today’s lifework, you will do the following:
- Clean the space thoroughly.
- Beautify the space. If you have a vision board, be sure to post it near your money space. If you have flowers, place them there in a gorgeous vase.
Sidenote: Just so you know, I keep pretty pencils on my desk and a pic of Oya, a Santera goddess of destruction and change.
This step is especially important when it comes to understanding the psychology of associations. The more you associate money management with a beautiful, orderly, and peaceful space, the more positive feelings you will have with your money and your money decisions. You’ll be less likely to avoid handling money or accessing your accounts because the space and vibe that you’ve created is so inviting and non-threatening.
What my money space shows about me….

The Mama Bear Principle: Mama Bears are protective of their cubs and their crew. And that’s exactly how I feel about our community. Throughout the Happy Finances Challenge, I may recommend some products and service and receive some form of compensation. However, I would NEVER suggest them unless I truly believed they were useful or helpful.
