3 Steps on How to Overcome Challenges When You Face Them

18Whenever you are embarking on a new journey you will always be faced with challenges and difficulties that interfere with your ability to stay on track. However, it’s not about the difficulties it’s about how you respond to the challenges.  Challenges and difficulties are designed to test us to see if we want what we say that we want.

As we continue to overcome challenges, we grow stronger, increase our faith and belief in our ability to transform, and we build our endurance. Building endurance allows us to stay the course and finish the race to financial freedom. However, if you get off track, or find yourself questioning your ability to continue then remember these 3 steps to get back on track.

  1. Forgive yourself. Sometimes it is difficult to let mistakes go. If you make a mistake just forgive yourself. Similar to dieting, if you eat something off of the plan, do not blow the diet for the rest of the day or week. Forgive yourself for that mistake, because focusing on the mistake will make things worse and ultimately make it harder to get back on track.
  2. Remember your why. Knowing why you are making the change helps you to stay focused when things get tough.  When you want to buy the shoes that aren’t in your budget or when don’t feel like spending the time to work on building a side business, knowing your why will provide the motivation to just keep going and to keep making the difficult decisions.
  3. Start over. Remember the past is in the past and the future hasn’t arrived yet. However you can make the decision to start today anew. Remember everyday is a new opportunity to start over and make today the best day ever.

Hopefully these tips will help you to embrace the challenges and to look for the lessons and learning when these challenges arise. One of my favorite quotes from Jim Rohn is:

“Don’t wish it was easier wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenge wish for more wisdom.”

Next time you encounter a challenge, ask for the skills to overcome the challenge and the wisdom to discern the lessons from that challenge.
