3 Ways to Build Your Ride or Die Crew

10Nothing says love like surrounding yourself with people who want the best for you. But this is easier said than done. There are always people who will readily point out your stumblings and failings, people who will remind you not to reach too far or dream too much. They may cloak it in want to protect you or by saying they’re “just being realistic”.  Either way it can be challenging when you’re surrounded with people supporting your failings.

The key to a fulfilling life is having people who want goodness for you in your corner. This is no small feat as it takes time and serious effort to cultivate relationships with people who truly want you to succeed in life. This ride or die crew will be there for you when you stumble and they’ll be joyous for you when you soar. When building your ride or die crew make sure they have these three important qualities:

  1. They’re supportive and encouraging of things and people that are good for you. They don’t tell you to do things that will hurt you or spend time with people who don’t care for you. People in your corner support and encourage good things for you.
  2. They tell you the truth, even when you don’t want to hear it. A true supporter is honest, not brutally honest but honest. They can be kind with their words while still calling you on your stuff and telling you when you’re wrong.
  3. A true supporter makes time for you when you need them. They may have busy lives but because you are a priority in their life they make time for you.

Share this with those in your corner and thank them for being there for you! Tell us, how do you know when someone is in your corner and supportive of you?
