From Hoarder to Semi-Minimalist – The Journey Begins

21As a hoarder lover of all things beauty, I recently did an audit of my medicine cabinet, the cabinet under the sink and my vanity and….it was #toomuch! The overflow of product is literally out of control! I no longer have a medicine cabinet as it is full of half used products, products I tried once and hated but refuse to throw away and products I have completely forgotten about….Hello, 4 bottles of shampoo! The cabinet under the sink and my vanity are laughable as they are packed.

While sitting here trying to make excuses for myself as to why I have sooooo much stuff, it really just boils down to the fact that I need to practice some self-control and stick to a real plan around creating a Minimalistic lifestyle for myself. So what is Minimalism any way? Minimalism is about paring down your possessions to the things you need, creating less clutter in your life and creating an environment where your focus less on stuff! There are tons of articles out that offer suggestions on the things you can do to create a Minimalist lifestyle but I am not trying to give away all of my things or live in a tiny house! I just need to clear the clutter!

Needless to say, I will be placing all of the products I need to finish up in a basket, throwing away the things I will not be using (they are pretty old) and I have pledged to myself that I will not purchase another product until I have finished what I already have! I’ll keep you updated on my progress!

Alright Feministas, are you holding onto clutter? Are you interested in paring down some things  you don’t need to focus on what you have? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below.
